Grammy Award Winner Patti Austin to Perform with Santana Roberts at "My Purpose Party"

to Benefit Rhode Island Community Food Bank

PAWTUCKET RI: Santana Roberts of West Greenwich will perform with Grammy Award Winner Patti Austin on Saturday, September 25th to benefit the RI Community Food Bank and Exeter/West Greenwich food pantries. This concert event is being held at the Hope Artiste Village, 999 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI from 5:00 to 9:00PM. Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 under age 16 will be available at the door and in advance at www.locallygrownlocallygiven.com.

At the tender age of 15, Santana Roberts hosted her first "My Purpose Party" in 2009 titled "Locally Grown - Locally Given", raising over $2,000 and 500 pounds of food for the Exeter/West Greenwich Food Pantries. ("My Purpose Party" is an organization that encourages young people to create a dream party using their talents for a greater purpose in the community or the world.) With success on her side, Santana, now 16, has again teamed with the non-profits "1 of 52 Hunger Network" and "Provisions - End Hunger RI" as well as event producer James Verity of Verity Design to launch her 2nd annual event.

This year's "My Purpose Party" is sure to draw enthusiastic crowds with a spectacular night of entertainment featuring Grammy Award winner, Patti Austin. Ms. Austin won a Grammy in 2008 for her recording Avant Gershwin. The night will include four hours of non-stop entertainment by performance artists, dancers and musicians including RI's own high energy band Erik Narwhal and the Manatees. The highlight of the evening will be a duet with Patti Austin and Santana Roberts.

In addition to this great line-up of entertainers, this year's "My Purpose Party"? will again have a special focus on supporting local farmers who make nutritious food readily available to the local community and attendees will find local farmers offering vegetables, cheeses, homemade breads and farm products. Student and local artist works are also being presented for a silent auction along with other exciting prizes.

This is a rare opportunity to experience award winning talent while supporting your friends and neighbors through the Rhode Island Community Food Bank who in the past year, distributed 9.5 million pounds of food to those in need. So come on out Saturday night September 25th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at The Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket to see the best of Rhode Island come together to support our neighbors!

For more information on My Purpose Party write Adriane Meyers at mypurposeparty @gmail.com. Anyone interested in sponsoring or donating for this event, or having your farm represented, please contact Ms. Santana Roberts at Santana.sings@yahoo.com. Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 under age 16 will be available at the door and in advance at www.locallygrownlocallygiven.com
