Electronic Version
Volume 4 August 1998
Stephen M. Maciel, Editor

Hi and welcome to our fourth newsletter.

We've made some great progress! We now have 36 of 52 weeks of the year assigned in our model state of RI, 7 in FL, 4 in NY, 2 in CA, 2 in MA, 2 in CT, 1 in NH and the 1st of 52 in Canada! We're well on our way to our 1st goal of a permanent network of 52 artists in each state, all using their talents to help bring about the end of hunger as we know it. The program is bringing in funds, food and awareness to local food agencies on an ongoing basis. Thanks to all of you, we are making a difference!

I've completed my book about the logistics of performing live music called "Workin' The Circuit - A Basic Guide to Gigging". One chapter features the 1 of 52 AHN concept. As the book becomes widely distributed, more folks will be learning about the program. The book's profits will help me defer the expenses of proliferating the 1 of 52 AHN. It may be purchased from our web page if you have an interest.

Speaking of funding, 'snail mail' newsletters will become less frequent. As the network expands, my out of pocket expense of running it rises accordingly. As a result, I'll have to rely more and more on information being disseminated from this web page and communications happening through Email. Fortunately, the internet is becoming much more prevalent in our industry.

Anything you can do to help spread the concept through word of mouth, linking our web page to your's, copying our flyer and sharing it with other artists, etc., is greatly appreciated.

Peace, Steve.
