Ted Donovan and Eric Neff brought their unique blend of
acoustical music spiced with humor to a hunger benefit show at Persimmons
Restaurant at The Weekapaug Golf Club, Shore Rd., Westerly on
Friday, July 30th. The artists donated the proceeds from this performance
to St. Mary's Food Pantry in Carolina, RI. Non-perishable food items
and cash donations to benefit the food pantry were also collected at the
show.
This sixth annual hunger benefit is part of Ted and Eric's participation
in the 1 of 52 Artist Hunger Network. This organization a
grassroots network of local and national artists dedicated to one common
goal: ending hunger. 52 artists are being organized in each state, each
representing one week of the year, who agree take take action annually to
help end hunger. A working model program has been set up in Rhode Island
and 1 of 52 Chapters have been started in 10 states to date. In addition
to the direct actions taken, the program hopes to inspire a groundswell
of public involvement through the example set by these artists.
